just won a week at the Lake Berkley house as part of a fund raising auction at Cedar Creek church. How do we reserve the dates from September 20-27th? We paid already.

My family (grandkids, grown kids, husband) stayed for a week in late September. House was wonderful and we really appreciated the convenience of being able to be close to Disney, have home cooked meals, take a break from the parks to nap, swim and get out of the rain everyday, and really relax. There were 7 of us, ranging from age 2 to age 63, and we all loved the house and the grounds, especially the pool. 10 year old twins loved the lizards, and were in the pool at least twice a day, every day, no matter what the weather. Gramps loved the very comfortable king size bed in the master suite, as well as the lovely soaker tub. I appreciated very much the peace of mind provided by the pool alarm, which let us know whenever someone opened the door to the pool deck. Loudly. The kitchen was really well set up, with almost everything you could possibly want to cook great nutritious meals. With a guest who has several food sensitivity issues, it was great to be able to feed her safely, and it saved a fortune on meals which would otherwise have to be eaten out. The convenient location of the nearby grocery stores was also a plus. Things to be aware of, if you are lucky enough to book a week or two at this house: bring your own laundry AND dish AND hand soap. None is provided. Also, when stocking up on groceries, don’t overlook basics like cooking oil, coffee and sugar and salt. None of these things we take for granted at home are in the pantry here. The washer and dryer are wonderful and easy to use. The games/video room requires quarters, lots of them. There are 3 strollers and 2 booster seats provided for little ones, and even 2 potty chairs if you have really young kids with you. There is also a travel bed/playpen provided. Lots of pillows, bedding, towels etc. There is a flat screen TV in every bedroom, and each one requires two remotes – one to turn on and off, and another to change channels. This got a little tricky to figure out, and was a bit frustrating until we figured out which remote went with which TV. Anyone planning a trip in September should know that it rains EVERY day, and sometimes all day. We had bad luck in that there was an unusually high rainfall count during the week we were there, but almost everyone who worked at Disney said that it is normal to get rain every day between noon and 2 pm. On the days we were there, it rained a minimum of 3 hours every day, and for 4 out of 7 days, it rained from noon until midnight. Too bad, but we had fun anyway, once we got over the disappointment of not being able to enjoy the water parks and more we had added to our park passes. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone with kids, or seniors. The only thing that might make this house more perfect would be a pool table.
