We’ve put together a list of fun family activities to do in and around Orlando this October. If you’re heading to one of our lovely vacation homes during the month of October make sure to get the family together and explore a few of these festivals and events.

Sept. 10- Nov. 1- Mickey’s Not=So-Scary Halloween Party

During selected dates between September 10th to November 1st, Walt Disney World host their annual Halloween spook-tacular.  The party is appropriate for all ages and you may even find yourself enjoying the festivities. Events include a “Boo-to-You Halloween Parade” featuring Disney characters, a fireworks show and more. Trick-or-treat around the park as special lighting, music and themed effects transform the Magic Kingdom into happy haunted hollows. Tickets start at $59 but make sure you check before you go which dates are available on their website.

Oct. 4- 6- Sesame Street Live ‘Can’t Stop Singing’

Sesame Street  becomes a nonstop, all-singing, all-dancing musical montage! Grover and Baby Bear sing their highs and lows, Cookie Monster sings fast and slow, Bert and Ernie converse in song and Murray makes mouth music for all to sing along! If you have any Sesame Street fans in your family this is the perfect event to see during your vacation! Tickets range from $18-$65, visit the website to purchase tickets.

 Oct. 4 – Jake’s Inaugural Beer Festival at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando

This event is best suited for having a grown-up day together or if you’re adult children are on vacation with you. From 5pm – 9pm – In the spirit of Oktoberfest, find yourself surrounded with a variety of beers, great food and entertainment.  Oct. 5 – 27 – SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular

Every Saturday & Sunday 12pm-close SeaWorld is hosting the ultimate family-friendly event of Halloween fun. Children can trick-or-treat, dance with whimsical sea creatures, catch silly and spooky shows and create sea-themed arts and crafts. Don’t forget to dress up in your favorite spooky costume and enjoy a whole new side of SeaWorld! Visit their website for showtimes, ticket info and pricing.

Oct.6 – 27- LEGOLAND Florida’s Brick or Treat

This spooky, fun event features a scavenger hunt, trick-or-treating along the brick-or-treat trail, a chance to build your own LEGO model activities, the largest LEGO Jack-O-Lantern in the world, Halloween entertainment and an all-kids costume contest with great prizes! Oct. 10 – 13 – Southern Women’s Show at the Orange County Convention Center

Four days of shopping, fashion shows, celebrity appearances, food sampling, pampering, and more. The Southern Women’s Show returns to Orlando October 10-13, 2013, and you’re invited to join in the FUN! Jam-packed with cool jewelry and handbags, make-up tips and tricks, delicious gourmet treats and more. Besides the incredible shopping, you can enjoy runway fashion shows, cooking classes, and informed speakers. Grab your mom, sister, or best friend and spend the day – or weekend – doing everything you love!!
